More guest work!

This collage piece comes from Rosey Armstrong.

I was at her and my brother's house the other day and spied this in the living room. I was like "dude, that building looks a hecka lot like a robot." She then told me it was a creation for month of monsters and I was stoked.

Rosey is a builder of things and slayer of other things.
She also plays a mean sax.

Happy Halloween from Jeb Kennedy!!

Here's my turn to say Happy Halloween, and thanks again! We look forward to The Month of Monsters all year, and it's extra special when you guys enjoy it with us.

Here's to another year of making art together, and staying inspired!

(You may recognize this guy from a certain movie franchise that rhymes with "toast clusters".)

Month O' Monsters Guest!: Ian McCloud

We've been really excited about this guest art, you guys. Today's submission comes from a friend of ours, and an incredible artist, Ian McCloud.

Though he is as humble as anyone could possibly be, this guy has some insanely good drawing skills. If you ever get a chance to check out one of his sketchbooks, take advantage of the opportunity. Ian fills them up with his wonderful pen and ink art style and awesome imagination.

Ian McCloud is about as manly as they come. A lover of nature,
Ian has enough beard to not only keep himself warm, but also a small family.
He's also a super nice guy, so he would probably do that.

HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEN!

Thanks for an awesome month, everyone!

Month O' Monsters Halloween Day: eyelander

Month O' Monsters Day #18 - Floating Skull

It's the final week of Month O' Monsters! This month has been so spooky and scary and we have loved every minute of it. Thanks for joining us! Keep checking back tomorrow for more creepy treats!

My submission today is a spoooooooky floating skull! Why is that skull floating? Is it being held up by string? Is the string being held by A GHOST? Who knows!

This was one of my first attempts at simple animation. I wanted to do a bit more but didn't have enough time. It was pretty fun! I'll definitely keep experimenting with it.

Month O' Monsters Day #16: Pacific Rim

To fight monsters, we created monsters...

Today's illustration is a fan art poster for the movie, Pacific Rim. This movie draws a lot of it's influence from old giant monster movies, so the idea was to make somewhat of a throwback poster for it. If you haven't already, you should check out the film. It's a lot of fun, and chock-full of monsters.

Also a confession: I don't think I've ever had a chimichanga...

Also also, if you haven't already, check us out on da facebook we'll keep ya updated ... when we update.

Month O' Monsters SPECIAL EDITION - Octodad!

Today I take a little detour from my usual creeps and spooks to draw a friendlier sort of monster - Octodad! To be perfectly fair; Octodad is not really a "monster" in the halloween sense. BUT, he is a giant octopus disguising himself as a human father so...it works I guess. (I really wanted an excuse to draw him)

For those of you unfamiliar with Octodad- he is the star of an upcoming videogame in which the player must help Octodad maintain the illusion that he is a normal human being by performing everyday tasks (quite a challenge when all you have for appendages are tentacles). You can learn more by watching this hilarious video or visiting the official website.

Sugar, Spice, and Everything (not) Nice
                             One squirt of lime juice,
                              Two pinches of garlic salt,
                              Three scoops of jack-o-lantern guts,
And one hairy, nasty beast-man, (boiled).

Month O' Monsters Guest Art Weekend!

This week we had some surprise guest art sent our way! We really love it when people send us stuff, you guys, so keep 'em comin'!

Up first is a submission from the super talented photographer, Heather Charise. Heather gave us fair warning that this illustration may be too weird/ creepy. But I think we can handle it...

You can check out her personal work here, or her stuff for
Authentiqua Studios hereThis girl really knows what she's doing.

Up next is a guest art submission from one of the Jebs' younger brothers! Ryan "Cito" Blair sent in a monster he sketched out while he was at work. It looks like he may be more influenced by the art of Jason Flack than his own brother...

Cito is the handsomest of the Brothers Blair. He enjoys sweet treats,
livin' life on the edge, and cuddling. Dude's got big muscles too...

Lastly, we have a new submission from the designer and screen printer, Joel Martinez. Here's a poster he put together for an upcoming monster-themed art show.

Joel is a crazy-hard-working designer that always has something in the works.
From work for CrossFit to sweet gig posters, this guys stays busy.
He is a lead designer at Junk Brands, and in his "free time" he works
as a barista at Pour Jon's coffee shop.

We've already been told about some more, very exciting, guest art that is still to come! So keep an eye out for more submissions to be posted next weekend! And if you have any desire at all to send something our way, please do! Getting involved, collaborating, and inspiring each other is what Jeb Kennedy is all about!

STAY SPOOKY! -Jeb Kennedy

Month O' Monsters Day #9: The Pale Orc

"He began...by beheading the king."

Okay so let's be honest: pretty much everyone hated Azog's role in The Hobbit film, and I can totally understand why. His character is only briefly mentioned in the book (he's actually supposed to be dead long before Bilbo's quest), and his character was a pretty last minute addition to the film which resulted in some inconsistent CGI.

BUT. For some reason, I really enjoyed him. It was fun to have an orc in the film that was actually intimidating instead of just waiting around to get speared/decapitated/etc. The design of his character was really unique as well: I loved the ritual scars and wicked prosthetic arm. The way he carried himself with this sense of barely contained rage was very enjoyable in contrast to the usually-forgettable lesser orcs.

So whether or not you enjoyed Azog as much I did; I created a painting of him. Deal with it.

This is the culmination of probably 5 hours in photoshop CS6. Surprisingly enough, I didn't use a specific movie photo for this piece. I just kind of looked at a whole bunch of different photos and made this scene up. Hope you enjoy!

Month O' Monsters Guest!: Justin Peabody

Today we are featuring guest art from the wacky, tacky, and incredibly talented designer and artist, Justin Peabody!

Whether he is using his creative juices for designs seen in Walmart, or his work for the OKC Thunder, or just creating an unsettling Snapchat to send me, Justin is off the charts.

This guy also has a really weird thing for unicorns- the only creatures as unique and rare as Mr. Peabody. Enjoy Justin's Cosmic Unicorn!

... Also enjoy his art submission for the Month of Monsters.

Justin Peabody is an art director at Saatchi & Saatchi X. He has a passion for unicycles,
unicorns, and unitards. He spends his evenings in tight turtleneck sweaters. He's married, ladies.

Month O' Monsters Day #5: Dark Wizard!

Welcome to the 5th official day of Month O' Monsters! I have to say: so far this has been our best year ever. I've had a chance to talk to several people who were so nice and genuinely excited about Month O' Monsters this year, which is just very encouraging and energizing for us as artists. All of us Jebs are very passionate about Monsters, and I think that really shows during this special month.

And we're not even halfway done yet! Keep checking in every day and don't forget to send us your monster fan-arts.

My piece today is a creep-a-licious Dark Wizard! Who is this dude? Why are his eyes glowing? Does he have candy to give out? (probably not!)

Month O' Monsters Guest!: Chad Maupin

Today's guest artist is the incredibly talented, Chad Maupin, of Big Bot Design. I've been looking forward to sharing some of this guy's work for a long time, and Month of Monsters seemed like the perfect time to do it!

To start things off, we have Chad's "Wolfman" poster. This awesome illustration is a silkscreen poster that actually uses glow-in-the-dark ink!

(Keep scrolling to read more about what Chad's up to, and see another awesome poster!)

If you live even remotely near Northwest Arkansas, I am almost positive you have seen Chad's work. Whether it's his work for Fayettechill, Pack Rat, or the Northwest Arkansas Roller Derby, Chad is showing up everywhere.

The good news is, you can own your very own artwork from Chad very soon! The Four Legged Bird store in Fayetteville Arkansas is hosting a Big Bot Trunk Show, where you can pick up a ton of awesome art. Check out the poster below, and if you're in the area, you won't wanna miss this!

Chad and his family have lived in Northwest Arkansas for the past 5 years.
Chad loves drawing, comics, antiques, and thankfully, the San Francisco 49ers.

Month O' Monsters Day #2: The Trophy Room

Happy Day Two of the Month of Monsters!

For my first illustration this year, I decided to create a piece as an end to the series I did for last year's Month of Monsters. For those of you who are just joining us, or for those who may not remember my series from last year, (fair weather fans), you can see them here.

Thanks for joining us for this, you guys. We look forward to this month all year. It's a joy to do what we do, and I hope it can bring you a little happiness too!   -KB

Month O' Monsters Day #1: Cyclops!

Month O' Monsters is finally here! It feels really good to be back posting artwork with my Jeb pals, especially when that artwork is monsters!

I don't really have a "theme" for my monsters this month, I am just drawing/painting whatever monster comes to mind. So this should definitely be interesting!

My first monster is a horrifying Cyclops! Hope you enjoy:
